Tour Description and Gallery

Springtime in the southern realm of Florida, and the wet lands of Georgia, is the best time to seek out and photograph wading birds and the landscapes of this wonderland of cypress, mangroves and water. Let us take you there!

Highlights: Alligators, Corkscrew Swamp, Sanibel Island, Everglades National Park, Alligator Alley, Egrets, Ibis, Bird Photography, Shark Alley

Join us as we gather in Ft. Meyers, Florida for our 6-7 day adventure through the everglades and along the coast of Florida exploring the complex and vital rivers and swamplands of this region to capture the birds and vegetation that South Florida is known for. Early spring is the best time to seek out these beautiful birds and that is when we will be traveling there!

We will start out from southern Florida and travel along the west coast of the state early in the day to greet the birds, Snowy Egrets, possibly an Osprey View the South Florida slideshowor two and a range of other beautiful avians living in the channels and backwaters of the coast. The beaches we travel will also afford us an opportunity to view and photograph the streamlined and stunning Royal Terns as they end their season in the northern hemisphere before returning back to the far South for the rest of the year.

Then we head inland to discover an even greater variety of bird life and the swampy environment that contains alligators and many other critters that offer great photographic opportunities. These will all be observed from the safety of boardwalks and paths that are well maintained in the glades and waterways of the interior. Making our way further east, we will be able to see and capture pictures of more wildlife in the channels and bogs of the southern region of the state, including the magnificent alligators that Florida is known for.

Finally, we head into Everglades National Park, one of the largest national parks in the Lower 48 states to view and photograph more birdlife and many other landscapes in their pristine condition. If you know where to look, the photographic possibilities are tremendous. If you are still longing for more inspiring sites to visit and an even closer look at the wetlands of the great Southeast, we can arrange an extension of the tour to visit southern Georgia and an even greater variety of both flora and fauna. Check out our Gallery for this tour, and then contact us about what you would like to see, and when you would like to travel. See you soon!
