Golden Circle Tour

The classic tour of the great Southwest is often referred to as the “Golden Circle Tour,” and this 14 day photographic expedition is one of the best we have ever offered. For an intimate look at the icons and wilderness areas of southern Utah and northern Arizona, and it will be a trip you will seldom ever be able to make without professional guidance and a great deal of knowledge and enthusiasm from someone who has been to all of these beautiful and often undiscovered places. Join us in September for the journey of a lifetime!

Join us as we gather in Phoenix, Arizona for our 14 day adventure through the timeless beauty of the high deserts and canyonlands of southern Utah, visiting Zion National Park, both the north and south units, and staying in Springdale UT on our first two days out on the road. We then head northeast on Route 12 traveling through some of the most enchanting and magnificent country that is to be found in the deserts and mountains of the Southwest. With visits to Bryce Canyon and then Capitol Reef National Park, we will be exploring the finest exposed reefs and canyon walls to be found anywhere, and the photographic possibilities are nearly endless.

We then travel further east to the Moab UT area, and treat you to the outstanding arches and mesas of this coveted region of eastern Utah. The park names may be familiar, but the importance of knowing where to go in the parks to capture the best photographic shots is why we are in business. This is our back yard, and we love to share it with you!

Another day and we are on the road to Mexican Hat UT, and a late afternoon tour of the Valley of the Gods for more extraordinary views of the Golden Circle Tour Gallerysandstone features of the southern Utah mesa lands. Overnight in this wonderful retreat on the San Juan River, and the next day, before dawn, we are off to Monument Valley and a tour of the Valley at sunrise in the care of a Navajo guide, who will take us to our favorite locations in the dunes and deep into the region of the Navajo national park that are off limits to the public. We then journey later in the day to a remote part of the Painted Desert for a rare look at the badlands and beautiful banding of the canyon walls of this precious and incredible part of Arizona.

We are then on our way to Marble Canyon and the Colorado River, before making our way over to the best locations on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon to catch the best light of the day at various places on the rim. Our night of rest will be back near the Colorado again, before embarking on a day of discovery visiting the icons of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. After traveling here for over 30 years, we have a real sense of this iconic mile deep canyon, and we will share it with you as you inspired by the views and colors of this fabled Wonder of the World. When we have completed our journey along the rim, stopping at strategic overlooks and photographic spots, we will stay in the area for the night, and make a final visit in the early morning light for a glimpse of this world class landscape.

After that incredible visit, we are on our way to the San Francisco Peaks in the Flagstaff AZ area, and the possibility of some leaf changing shots high up in the mountains before calling it a day in this storied big town in the forested slopes of the high peaks. Our last day together takes us into the much sought after landscape of Sedona AZ and the legendary “red rocks” of this canyon country, to witness the mystical aura of Sedona itself. From there it is on to Phoenix AZ and a late afternoon flight to home, or an independent stay in the city for a flight the following day. You will then be able to reflect and rest from a truly remarkable journey through many of the icons of the Southwest, and an exploration of other well kept secret places that provided outstanding photographic opportunities. Only 3 seats left for this small group journey. Join us!
