The Smokey Mountains and the Piedmont of the Southeastern US are two of the most verdant and bountiful parts of the country. In the spring, this region is known for its profusion of blooming and budding plants and the colors and shades of green in the flowers and trees in the deep forests. Come with us as we explore the beauty of this unique and rich region in its spring finery! We will show you many of its secrets as well as its famous sites, and help you capture those images you have seen in books and magazines over the years.

We will start our journey in Charlotte, North Carolina and head south and east into South Carolina for a visit to one of its prime wild areas to see firsthand the life and amazing shades of spring time in the water world of this low lying state.  We then move on to the Charleston area to one of our favorite plantations and revel in the gardens and wildlife of this seasoned and comfortable estate.

Our second day takes us north and into North Carolina again where we will visit an historic garden and have a chance to photograph both formal and wild flowers and trees for most of the day and the following morning.  Then it is off into the Smokey Mountains to capture some of the waterfalls and mountain shots in the eastern end of the park.

For the next three days we will travel into and out of this beautiful but subtle park, stopping at a wide range of sites to capture the ever flowing water, flowers and landscapes that are found all through the mountains.  After traveling in the Smokey Mountains for over 35 years we have discovered many of its secret places and sites that few photographers ever visit.  With a keen sense of the time of day, and the variables of weather and the blooming season, we help our travelers to enjoy their experience and success in shooting exceptional images of these treasured places. On the last day of the tour we will travel to Knoxville for our departure back home.
